KATY PURVIANCE is a writer, artist, improviser, and educator.  She graduated with a MA in teaching in 2015 from the School for International Training, and has trained for over 200 hours (and counting) in improvisation. She has taught in the United States, Poland, and Oman. Prior to becoming a teacher, Katy founded and led the largest and fastest-growing Girl Scout Troop in Vancouver, WA, with 18 girls, ages 8 to 13 (Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes). She also has a background in creative writing, sketch comedy writing, and playwriting. She recently founded Wayside Community Theatre to empower people of all ages to share the things that matter to them with the world.
